Our Mission
Hi, y’all!
My name is Jack Cuison and I’m one of the authors for Controversial Book Club!
Right now, I’m going to explain our mission for this blog, meaning what we will post, who we want to reach, and where we want to go with this blog! Let’s dive in!
Our Audience
If you are not already aware, this blog is written by five teen writers who are passionate about books and arguments. Therefore, it’s only natural that our targeted audience is people like us: young writers with opinions.
While this blog is written for young writers, that doesn’t mean only young writers can participate in reading our posts, the Daily Controversies, and our monthly book reading. In that regard, anyone and everyone is welcome!
Our Posts
We will post many different types of articles and such on Controversial Book Club, but we have sorted all of them into different labels, such as Daily Controversy, Announcements, Writing Tips, Book Reviews, Devotionals, and more! Let’s elaborate on those.
1. Daily Controversy — the highlight of our blog, these posts will include a controversial topic and/or question and our opinion on the topic. These posts are heavily reliant on the readers, for it is the reader’s job (that means you!) to share your opinions and argue against others in the comments. The end goal of these posts is mainly just to have fun and learn more about other young writers!
2. Devotionals — these posts will be uplifting messages posted weekly to remind our readers of the goodness of our Heavenly Father, where we stand as Christian teen writers, and give our readers hope to fuel them throughout the week.
3. Writing Tips — these articles will also be posted weekly and will include helpful tidbits for young writers to chew on each week. The posts will include writing advice, helpful resources, ways to get their writing out there, and more.
4. Book club — every other month, we will be hosting a book club solely for teens, thereby giving meaning to our name, Controversial Book Club. We will post whenever registration opens and announcements will be attached in the emails we send out. Our book club meetings will be held on Fridays and all books we read will be voted on and approved by each member’s parents.
These types of posts, among many others, will be posted throughout the year on Controversial Book Club. If you have any suggestions or comments, feel free to head over to our Contact page where we will all be available and eager to hear what you have to say!
Our Goals
Our goals for this blog are simple: we want young teen writers to have an environment where they can share their opinions with people like them in order to be heard, make friends, and just have fun! Our blog’s Daily Controversies have proven to get young writers to defend their responses and conduct research to back themselves up. Our devotionals are posted to be uplifting and show people that Christian teens can also have a voice in this world. Our book club will hopefully help young writers delve deeper into the world of books and have fun sharing their opinions with others. This blog’s slogan says it all: Unleash Your Opinions. Overall, we want this blog to show young writers, like ourselves, that their opinions matter and can be heard.
If you want to learn more about where Controversial Book Club stands in certain areas or just have general questions, comments, or concerns, don’t hesitate to head over to our Contact page where you can message any of our authors who will be happy to help you!
Have a blessed day!
